Description
Italian cooking classes are available all year long and offer you the chance to embrace the essence of this amazing country; its people and the flavours of its outstanding traditional cuisine. Whether at a farmhouse using home-grown products from the garden, at the central market in the heart of Florence or a local cooking studio found in most of the quaint villages and towns, you will learn about the age-old traditions that have made Italian cuisine the most healthy, well-loved and imitated in the world. In Italy the heart of the home has always been and remains in the kitchen and the golden rule of preparing seasonal dishes with quality ingredients still applies. Don’t miss the chance, atmosphere or unforgettable experience of tasting some of the best products the country has to offer where they are produced.
When you participate in a cooking class in this country, you enter a world where food and culture are intricately intertwined. Some dishes require complicated procedures and hard to come by ingredients, but many regional specialties are based on “la cucina povera” (the poor kitchen) which uses simple and readily available seasonal products. Observing firsthand the selection of ingredients and participating in the preparation offers not only a lesson in gastronomy but also an insight of the cultural significance of “la tavola” (the table), where families continue to gather and share their daily experiences, opinions and concerns over a homemade meal.
Popular culinary adventures include learning how to make homemade pasta, pizza, pastry or gelato. There are some very good schools to choose from, so let us know where your passion lies and we’ll assist you in selecting the best option based on your location, interest and level of experience.
Perhaps just a day out in the country and a leisurely farm to table lunch in more your style? We are proud to support the slow food industry which was founded in Rome by Carlo Petrini in 1986 and will happily set you in the right direction for a scrumptious lunch or dinner at one of the picturesque local farms or vineyards which dot the rolling hills of the breathtaking Tuscan countryside. You may even decide to participate in a cooking class where you will have the opportunity to savour your creations over an entertaining lunch or dinner with your dynamic group.
If your weakness is fish and seafood, we can also provide excellent options for a cooking class along the coast. We will find the right location based on your request, travel time and the number of participants. You may even want to go fishing first and have the pleasure of transforming your catch into the pasta dish of your dreams.
