Description
Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Val D’Orcia and its amazingly scenic countryside and discover the magnificent towns of Montalcino, Pienza and Montepulciano, where you will find wine and pecorino cheese tastings very difficult to resist!
The first stop will be in the medieval town of Montepulciano, which is well known for its beautiful views over the valleys and vineyards which produce their famous Vino Nobile. You’ll love the historic atmosphere and the picturesque churches and squares. After your morning in Montepulciano, our tour will continue on to quaint town of Pienza which is a superb example of Renaissance architecture and famous for its highly flavourful and aromatic varieties of pecorino cheese. You’ll have time to explore the town, indulge in cheese tasting and enjoy lunch. The last stop will be in Montalcino which is dominated by the impressive 14th century Fortress of Montalcino Castel and home to the world renowned wine of Brunello di Montalcino. Stop in one of the town’s historic wine cellars for a wine tasting or find a nice bar where you can sit back and relax over a Tuscan style happy hour with a glass of one of the best wines in the world, an ice cold Italian beer or a cocktail with some tasty Tuscan appetizers.
