Description
Our destination will be in the heart of the Tuscan wine region where we will visit the charming medieval town of Montalcino which is dominated by the impressive 14th century Fortress of Montalcino Castel and home to the world renowned wine of Brunello di Montalcino. Here you can choose between free time or a guided tour.
At 12:00 we will visit one of the historical estates where a guided tour of the vineyard and cellars will be followed by the opportunity to taste the structured intense flavour of Brunello di Montalcino and other esteemed wines. The wine tasting will be complimented with a local gastronomic specialities such as cured meats, olives and cheese served with Tuscan bread. This memorable experience will be followed by a late lunch.
In the afternoon, we will drive to Pienza which is a superb example of Renaissance architecture and famous for its highly flavourful and aromatic varieties of pecorino cheese. You’ll have free time to stroll through this quaint town and enjoy a relaxing afternoon before returning to Florence.
